From the feedback we
receive, we learned that women get inspired by reading the success stories of other women,
such as the one we published on SAF Elite star Michelle De Maria in February.

Inspiration
During the first half of this year, I traveled to numerous
events in Canada and the US and met many women who read the articles we publish. The
feedback regarding SeriousAboutFitness.com was all positive and I was thrilled to learn
how many of the women receive so much inspiration each month from what is written here.
From what they told me, I realize a lot of their
inspiration comes from reading the profiles and success stories that we feature. After
hearing this, I looked up the names of the women whom we had featured in our
"People" section in the first part of 2008: Anita Kus-Roberts, Michelle De
Maria, Vanda Hadarean, Natalie Waples and Stacey-Lynn Mlinarevic. This month, we have an
article on Christy Wolfe. Obviously, these are all successful women whose stories motivate
others.
Many women I talked to also commented on how they like the
way I write candidly about the problems of drug use, and how I wholeheartedly endorse a
healthy, drug-free approach to getting into shape. In fact, some told me that with what I
write here, they find it much easier to keep clear of drugs even when theyre being
tempted by someone in their gym who is trying to push them towards drugs with the false
promise that it will help them achieve their goals faster. Overall, it makes me happy to
know that we can have this kind of positive effect and keep many women from taking that
road to disaster.
Finally, it was gratifying for me to hear that women are
also inspired by our site because they find so many valuable training and nutrition
articles here. One of the mandates I had when I created SeriousAboutFitness.com was to
ensure that we always publish credible information that can produce results, not the kind
of filler-type articles and nonsense that you fimd in so many of the magazines today. So,
when women tell me that they learn from what they read here, I know were achieving
what we initially set out to do.
The year may now be a little more than half done, but
its far from over. As the fall season rolls around, there are many more places I
will be traveling to and, undoubtedly, there will be even more people whom I meet. I look
forward to getting more feedback from them and hearing more stories about how we inspired
them to succeed. Who knows, perhaps even one of those stories will come from you!
