Competitions, Camps, and Still More
to Come!
Last year, our biggest announcement was the introduction of
the SAF Model Search events. One year later, were happy to say that not only was the
launch of those competitions a huge success, but in 2008 were going to have two more
competitions, with both of them promising to be even bigger and better than the first
ones. The first competition will take place on June 21 in London, Ontario, and the second
on November 1 in Ottawa, Ontario. In addition, at the June 21 competition, were
going to be having something new: the first-ever SAF Elite competition.
The Elite event will run alongside the regular Open
competition; however, unlike the Open competition which is open to any woman 18 years of
age or older (no previous competition experience required), the SAF Elite competition is
only open to current SAF Elite-qualified competitors. In addition, out of those who are
qualified, only ten are invited to compete. Obviously, this is one of the most prestigious
and exclusive events in Canada.
The ten who have been invited to compete on June 21 are:
Jaime Price, Michelle De Maria, Anita Kus-Roberts, Vanda Hadarean, Dionne Sinclair,
Natalie Waples, Christy Wolfe, Michelle Matthews, Stacey-Lynn Mlinarevic, and Jennifer
Lambert Foster. Most of those names are probably already familiar to you, and on June 21,
one of them is going to rise to the very top. So, with such a star-packed roster, the SAF
Elite competition is gearing up to be one of the most exciting competitions of 2008. No
wonder the SAF Model Search events are now Canadas top competitions for fit-minded
females!
However, were not only working on competitions this
year we're also putting on fitness camps, something brand new for us. The first one
will be held on April 12 in Kingston, Ontario. Its called the "SAF
Superstar Fit Camp & Seminar." The person in charge of these fitness
camps is none other than Michelle Matthews, our SeriousAboutFitness.com recipes editor as
well as a member of our SAF Elite. At present, Michelle is busy planning to make sure this
day-long event runs smoothly.
We chose the word "Superstar" to be part of the
name of this first camp for two reasons. One reason is because of the people who will be
conducting it. Besides Michelle, there will be IFBB professional figure competitor Nina
Luchka, as well as Canadian figure champion and international fitness model Natalie
Waples. These are some of the top stars in the Canadian fitness scene right now.
Obviously, were thrilled to have them onboard for our inaugural camp. But
whats more important is that they bring expertise and experience that will make the
quality of instruction second to none. Ill also be there on April 12 to help our
instructors by taking part in the instruction with them. In particular, Ill be
explaining exactly how I helped women like Chantal Dicaire and Natalie Waples attain their
goals.
The other reason the word
"Superstar" is there is for the people attending the camp. This one-day event
will teach those who dream of being the superstars of tomorrow exactly how to get there.
Our instructors will cover a broad range of topics,
including training and nutrition. As well, theyll be talking about their own little
secrets that helped them get to the top. The information will be applicable for those who
want to compete in fitness, figure, or at our SAF Model Search events, but it will also be
just as relevant for those who dont want to compete but who just want to get into
the best shape of their life.
The SAF "Superstar" Fit Camp & Seminar on
April 12 is going to have something for everyone, and I highly encourage everyone
whos serious about fitness to be there. In fact, I think youd be crazy
to miss this opportunity if your goal is to get ahead, whether youre competing or
you just want to look better. The price to enroll is just $79 a small price to pay
for the kind of information youll receive. See SAFCamps.com for details.
With competitions and camps going on, youd think that
would be enough. But we still have more exciting news about other things that will be
coming. However, I cant tell you too much about them just yet. Suffice it to say
that at SeriousAboutFitness.com, were always looking to improve, just like you are.
Look for more exciting announcements in the months to come.
